Column debut: My life on the e-list
Who knew a serious car accident could literally throw you off-course and figuratively put you back on it.
It was about two years ago. I remember thinking, "I'm too young to die." My car was smoking and totalled. Still, as strangers called 911 for me, I wondered if this was an "important" enough reason to call my family. Once the trauma waned, things became clear: This was more than an important enough reason to live my life – big.
That day, when the lady in the SUV ran the red and barrelled into my compact, she threw me about 50 metres, where I landed in the intersection of Offline and Online. While recovering, an innocent Google search somehow led me to accidentally create a website. (Some accidents I just don't mind.)
Finally, I stopped putting it off and started writing again. The rest is Web history ...
