In an effort to curb an obesity epidemic that’s eating the country, Canadian researchers suggest a tax be placed on all junk food. Dr. Mark Eisenberg is lead researcher in the junk study and says obesity related deaths and illnesses could be reduced if the government steps in.

Chips, chocolate, cakes, cookies – they want them all taxed. But why stop there?

A while back, the world heard about Ashley Kirilow. A 23-year-old woman arrested for faking cancer to encourage others to give her money. This is shameful and deplorable. Stealing money from good Samaritans. Stealing money from those who need it.

So, why not arrest the biggest profit making not-for-profit in the world for stealing money too?

The word cancer applies to some 200 diseases associated with uncontrolled cell growth.

The research and development for the disease is associated with another cancer – greed.

Most people take it by mouth.

But in Ontario, we may have to take it in both ends, after Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall and Pharma Plus are through with us.

The generic pharmaceutical.

The Ontario government is cutting the price of generic drugs to equate to 25 per cent of the price of their brand name counterparts. These savings will be passed on to the consumer, and the government, of course.

So we finally catch a break, right?

Well, we actually catch a 22.

Dear Dove,

How are you? How are sales going since your Campaign for Real Beauty began? Are more women buying your anti-aging products and your cellulite-reducing complexes?

I understand re-defining beauty is difficult. That is something I have been trying to do with my Bye-Bye Barbie program. You know, teaching young women that they don’t have to look to a product to find beauty. Unfortunately, I don’t have any creams to sell them.
